Fast becoming the fast food talk of the town, Marlowe’s boldly opened its 25-seater burger bar over the Easter weekend and has not stopped flipping since, serving up more than 2,200 real burgers in the first 22 days.
The brainchild of 29-year-old Sean Marlowe (pictured), who grew up in Tunbridge Wells, Marlowe’s is steadily building its reputation on the quality and simplicity of its offering, consistently delivering its own special recipe, perfectly cooked, 100% pure Sussex grass-fed beef burgers, to an ever-growing clientele.
To celebrate its opening, Marlowe’s recently held a press launch evening, where guests included 20 keen burger fans who were picked at random from the pre-launch mailing list, as well as local business people.
The Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, David Neve, treated the room to a pun-laden speech while guests enjoyed some of Marlowe’s real burgers and a range of sides – but the piece de resistance was a giant burger cake made by Hollie’s Little Cakery.
