Construction Expo celebrated its 10-year anniversary with record breaking crowds attending the event at the Kent Event Centre on October 5th.
The Expo, run by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest construction sector events in the UK showcasing the best of the industry in the South East. Combining a mixture of interesting exhibitors, keynote speakers, informative workshops and large demonstration areas, the event also hosts one of the UK’s largest free Meet the Buyers. This year over 30 buyers held around 600 appointments offering businesses of all sizes the opportunity to get in front of key staff.
The exhibition halls, filled with over 150 exhibitors, were busy throughout the day and the event attracted around 23% more delegates than in 2016.
The conference programme focused on many of the challenges facing the industry including how to develop talent for the construction sector and the progress of BIM, as well as updates on projects in the South East, such as Otterpool Park, Medway Council’s exciting new development opportunities and the continuing regeneration of the Thames Gateway in North Kent.
Workshops were well attended; Laura Curtis from CFA Marketing provided help with social media and digital marketing whilst David McNeice from Quigg Golden looked at NEC4 Contracts and payments terms.
Jo James, Chief Executive of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce commented “We’ve had a fantastic day today, it’s been about maximising opportunities for our exhibitors. There’s been lots of business done and lots of new partnerships being formed, I look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2018.”
