Do you love driving? Are you a people person? Could you take an elderly/disabled person to a medical appointment or shopping once a week?

Run by local charity Imago, Dial 2 Drive is a community transport scheme where volunteer drivers use their own cars to take clients to medical and social appointments. These drives include appointments at local surgeries, hospitals, day centres, hairdressers, opticians, lunch clubs and shopping. Drives are booked for days, evenings and weekends.
Being a volunteer driver fits around your day as the role is flexible to suit you. Drivers are DBS checked and have references taken, receive an induction and support. Mileage is reimbursed to ensure volunteers aren’t left out of pocket.
The support clients’ receive by accessing Dial 2 Drive enables them to stay active and independent in their local community for longer. People register to use the service and pay an annual membership fee plus any mileage costs on a monthly basis. There are more than 650 clients across Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and surrounding areas – and in the last six months Dial 2 Drive has completed more than 5,320 journeys!
Dial 2 Drive has a team of 80 fantastic volunteer drivers but is looking to recruit more to enable the increasing numbers of passengers who would like to use the service. If you think you could join the team and would like to find out more, visit the website – www.imago.community/Community-Services/Dial2Drive/Volunteer – where there is an online registration form, call the office on 0300 777 1200 or email volunteering@imago.community
