A young Dovorian has joined the growing ranks of local talent for the Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR) development apprenticeship programme with the Port of Dover’s principal contractor, VSBW.
Lily Warren, 21, who attended St Edmund’s Catholic School and Astor College for the Arts in the Sixth Form, first joined VSBW in January 2017 where she supported the set-up of systems and processes in an administrative role within the procurement and commercial teams.
It is in this role that Lily gained valuable experience with senior quantity surveyors before being offered her apprenticeship in the autumn as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor with VolkerStevin.
Lily’s two-year apprenticeship will include a one-day-a-week day release to undertake her BTEC Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, whilst she also undertakes work-based learning for her NVQ Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance.
