Tunbridge Wells Moves Forwards

Tunbridge Wells Moves Forwards

Royal Tunbridge Wells Together, the organisation that exists to promote Royal Tunbridge Wells as a destination for businesses, leisure and cultural visits, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Town Centre Manager, Karen Pengelly.

Karen arrives in the role having spent time working in Marketing, Tourism and Town Centre Management in the past, having been a Town Centre Manager in Richmond upon Thames in West London.

Karen commented “It’s an honour to be appointed to the role of Town Centre Manager for Royal Tunbridge Wells. It’s a beautiful town set in stunning surroundings. There are only a handful of British towns with such a vibrant and eclectic mix of businesses, both established and new. Tunbridge Wells is a destination for leisure and business visitors with a year round calendar of events to suit all ages and types of visitor. I will be working with businesses to ensure that the town remains vibrant, attracts inward investment and increases footfall and visitor spend in the future. There is real competition amongst shopping centres and towns to attract visitors, Tunbridge Wells should be at the top of the list of destinations for weekend breaks, shopping trips and places to do business.”

Royal Tunbridge Wells Together was launched in 2016 as a joint venture between Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and many businesses located in the town. Its aims are to promote Tunbridge Wells as a destination whilst maintaining a competitive edge over other locations in the South East. The role of Town Centre Manager will bridge gaps between many existing organisations and groups including the Chamber of Commerce, existing tourism services and local and central government.
