Tunbridge Wells East FC has opened its doors with training sessions for boys and girls in the U6-U8 age groups, with the aim of building the club up from youth – and it will be open primarily to those in the Sherwood, Knights Park, St James and Pembury areas.
While there are 218 registered football teams across Tunbridge Wells there were none for youngsters in these areas, meaning it was often difficult to sign up with a club.
Local councillor Chris Hoare said: “More than 700 new families will be moving into the area and a football club is an excellent way for the community to mix together, make friendships and get fit!”
The club will be run by experienced and local coaching company, MSporti, and coaching sessions cost just £2 to attend. They are open to Reception, Year One and Year Two children, from 5pm-6pm on Wednesdays at the TN2 Centre, Sherwood.
